on his right foot. Same place. 3 open, oozing areas. I wonder if this one will heal. He said he is going to call his doctor on Monday. He doesn't feel like leaving the house again. I'm sure his feet are killing him. It's painful just for me to look at it, so it must be bad for him.
Good progress on sleep. The Cpap is really working. He is sleeping more and longer and does have more energy. But the energy is being zapped by the increased pain.
I can't help but think if we could get the feet well.....we could get the rest well.

Just wondering if your husband's doctor has ever referred him to a wound care specialist for treating the recurring sores? Back in the day when hubby still went to the doctor, he had some horrible burns so we had to spend four months going there a few times a week. The good part was that they loaded us up with all kinds of dressings and ointments and did an excellent job in educating us on the best treatments for various diabetic sores. Regardless of who he sees, I'm glad to hear that your husband plans to get this looked at!
One other thought, does your husband see a rheumatologist for his gout? I'm guessing so, but I've learned never to take anything for granted with the medical system. It does seem that life with his feet must be so painful and limiting that it would lead to a "why bother?" attitude about a lot of things.
By the way, I'm really glad you're back. Sure do miss you when you're gone for a few days! It's also been nice to see some new posters. The more of us that can support each other, the better!
He does see a rheumatoloist on a regular basis. I'm not sure that he's been to a wound care specialist, but that's a good idea and when the time is right, I will suggest that to him.
It's always great to get away for a bit, but it's also nice to come home. I'm hoping that today he feels like taking the ATV out, but at the moment, he's still sleeping. I have a silly goal for today....a no-brainer....get all the DVDs in the carousel player labeled so I can find what I want when I press the menu button! LOL! Something to do til he wakes up! :o)
